Bobby Bethea went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Fellowship Church, 2450 N 121, Grapevine.
Memorials: His family is establishing a fund to help those who need treatment for drug and alcohol abuse.
Robert Pierce Bethea III (1946 - 2009)
Bobby was born Oct. 20, 1946, in San Antonio and spent most of his life in Houston. He moved to the Dallas area in 1991 and had been employed by La Hacienda Treatment Facility for over 20 years. It wasn't just a job, he was doing what he believed was his calling in life. God found him to be one of the most useful tools in helping others who need to be friends of Bill W, but didn't know it at the time. Bobby was a friend of Bill W for 24 years.
Survivors: Children, Gina Gonzalez, Robert P. Bethea IV and wife, Elizabeth, and Ashlee Bethea and her mother, Shannon Bethea; mother, Gerry Clancey; father, Robert Pierce Bethea Jr. and wife, Irene; brother, Steven Bethea and wife, Sharon; sisters, Diane Molina and husband, Eugene, and Tara Bullock and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Evangeline Bethea, Sojourner Bethea and Justina Bethea; his cocker spaniel, Nikki; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In memory of:
Consuelo “Chelo” Graham, RN, case manager, has been named Nurse of the Year. A nurse for 38 years, Graham has been with JPS for the past four years. She works in the Department of Community Case Management as the bilingual case manager for the Mom & Baby Special Services program, where she assists pregnant and postpartum women, children, and families deal with mental illness, substance abuse and abusive relationships. She also interprets bimonthly education classes for mothers, families and their children.
Way to go! We knew it a long time ago.
